Breast lift

Young women generally have firm and beautiful breasts, but various factors may make them sag and reduce the elasticity of the skin as time goes on. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, big weight changes, diet, excess sunlight, not wearing a bra and not looking after one's breasts are the main factors that may cause breasts to sag.
Breast lifting does not desensitise them and breastfeeding after the surgery is possible, although pregnancy after the surgery may change the result.

Is a breast lift what I need?

  • Yes, my breasts have become saggy.
  • Yes, I am embarrassed to go to the beach and show myself naked.
  • Yes, I would love to have a beautiful bust that would increase my confidence.

If you have decided to have your breasts lifted, please book a consultation with our specialist where we will discuss whether lifting your breasts is enough or whether you also need implants.
During the consultation, which lasts about an hour, the doctor will give you a detailed description of what happens before and after the surgery as well as the surgery itself. We will take the necessary tests, ask you about your health and habits, and answer all of your questions. It is important for us to know about your allergies, smoking and other health-related habits.

Breast lift surgery

Breast lift surgery takes about two to three hours and it is performed under general anaesthesia. The shape and size of your future breasts are marked on your body before the surgery to give you a better idea of the final result. The main purpose of breast lift surgery is to remove excess skin and change the position and shape of breast tissue and nipples, after which the incision is closed with stitches.
You will come to after the surgery in a couple of hours and spend the night in the clinic. You will be given painkillers if necessary and although people have a different tolerance for pain, our patients usually don’t need painkillers for more than two days.
The surgeon will examine you the next day and give you a personal aftercare programme before discharging you from the clinic.

Wound care

After the surgery your breasts will be a little tender and you may feel some discomfort, but this will pass in a few days. The wounds should be kept as dry as possible and covered with sterile plasters for a week. We definitely advise you to wear a special well-fitting bra that is not underwired for 3 to 6 weeks after the surgery.
We don’t advise you to stretch the scars, lift heavy items, exercise vigorously or go to the sauna for a couple of months after the surgery. You should also abstain from sexual activity in the first weeks. Although vigorous exercise is not advisable, moderate physical exercise helps improve circulation and speed up recovery.
Smoking causes wounds to heal considerably slower, which is why we advise you to quit smoking for at least a month before and after the surgery.

Scars

Unfortunately, it is impossible to make incisions without leaving scars, but the scars that look dark at first will fade and become less noticeable in time. We advise using the wound gels available in pharmacies to accelerate healing. Use silicone plasters, which are also sold in pharmacies, to avoid keloid.
We advise you to protect your upper body from direct sunlight for a couple of months after the surgery, because the influence of sun radiation on the skin pigment may turn the scar darker and more noticeable.

Final result

The initial swelling will disappear in a couple of weeks and tenderness in your breasts will subside in a couple of months, but your breasts will look firmer and more beautiful immediately after the surgery. The final result of breast reduction surgery will be visible in 6 to 12 months, when your breasts have recovered from the surgery and healed completely.
The results of breast lift surgery are relatively permanent and your breasts will stay firm and beautiful for many years if you look after them properly.
